Hello Fellow Spotters, The potential for a strong thunderstorm remains possible in the Twin Cities this evening. Net Control will activate if we have a thunderstorm watch or warning this evening. If a thunderstorm does approach the Twin Cities in the late evening or overnight, Net Control may or may not activate, but you can report any storm via the national weather service https://inws.ncep.noaa.gov/report/. Metro Skywar does not recommend spotting overnight in low or no light conditions. Morning Storm Update

Hello Fellow Spotters, The National Weather Service has informed Metro Skywarn that there will be morning rain. And for you amateur radio operators doing Field Day, there is a possibility of some lightning for the Metro Skywarn Coverage area with the morning storms. So please be safe with you antenna's and radio equipment. The Morning storms will NOT be severe, just winds gusting 30-40 mph with the potential for 50 mph AFTER the morning storms pass through. Please remember wind speeds need to be measured with a calibrated anemometer. Later this evening, there may be an isolated storm or two later today, but nothing severe like I-90 is having this morning. Metro Skywarn will be monitoring the Minneapolis repeater 146.700 - PL 127.3 if you have any reports to make this morning. Metro Skywarn Practice Net

Hello Fellow Spotters, there will be a Practice net on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on the Minneapolis repeater 146.700 - PL 127.3 for the first 15 minutes, and then we will switch over to the Blaine Repeater on 146.670- PL 114.8 for the last 15 minutes. You do not need a spotter ID to participate in the practice net, but it is highly encouraged. Go to metroskywarn.org to sign for a spotter class this year. This is a practice net to make, a practice weather report if you would like, or check in to make sure you have your radio programmed correctly, and to see if you can make the repeater in blue sky conditions. I have added a link to a reporting script for you new spotters and for you veterans as a refresher, if you need it, along with a link to our repeaters and backup repeaters. There's a line of storms moving through the metro, expected to weaken. Rain and wind are all that is expected. I am monitoring 146.7 but I'm not planning to start a net at this time.
