Hi all - With Severe Storms expected later today, I am cancelling todays 6:30 PM Practice Net and succeeding local repeater practice net at 6:45PM. Please be aware that an informal net and potentially a formal net will be needed this afternoon and spotter activation may be needed. Be aware of your surroundings and position to any severe storms. Last Two Classes are This Week!

Hi! We're winding down the training season with our final two classes - Thursday, June 11 - online and Saturday, June 13 - Blaine City Hall. Sign up and FAQ are at https://metroskywarn.org/training/ If you've already taken a class: * Metro Skywarn spotters (hams):, MSW IDs through the May 18 class were sent out. I'll be working on the May 30 class tomorrow evening - just in time for the potential severe weather on Wednesday. Watch your email! * Skywatchers (Non-hams): IDs through March classes have been sent via email and April and May's classes will be worked on soon. The NWS gets very backed up this time of the year as they teach their own classes, so please be patient. Remember, even if you haven't received your ID, you can still report to the NWS! Weekly practice net June 3rd

Hello spotters There will be a Practice net tomorrow, Wednesday, June 3rd, at 6:30 P.M. It will start on the Minneapolis repeater 146.700 - PL 127.3Hz, and move at 6:45 PM to the TCFM St. Louis Park Repeater 146.760 - PL 114.8 in St. Louis Park. However if you are in St. Paul. the PL tone for the TCFM repeater is -PL100.0, and if you are in Coon Rapids, the PL is -PL123.0 If you need to save this page for repeater links, click here <https://metroskywarn.org/amateur-radio/> If we have unexpected severe weather, we will open the net for an informal or formal net instead of a practice net. You do not need a spotter ID to participate in the practice net, but it is highly encouraged to go to metroskywarn.org to sign up for a spotter class this year. Hi MSWInfo and MSWAlert system email opt-in users. We really like being able to provide you will up to date info especially when alert information is immediate, current and needs to go out to your email accounts ASAP. However, of late, I have had 70+ accounts come back from the mail list server as undeliverable for one reason or another. And, obviously those account flagged by the system probably will not see this message. So, before it flags you, for either of our email accounts that you opted in, at one time or another, please make sure the email account you provided receives email, is not blocked or full (yeah deleting 5 to 10K emails is a pain), and is not a phone number that receives text (T-mobile and ATT have or will be shutting this off). Correct Metro Skywarn Practice Net email

Sorry everyone, I sent the email to the wrong mailing list. It was meant for MSWinfo NOT MSWalert. Sorry for the confusion and multiple emails Hello Fellow Spotters, there will be a Practice net on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on the Minneapolis repeater 146.700 - PL 127.3 for the first 15 minutes, and then we will switch over to St. Louis Park 146.760 - PL 114.8 (100.0 St.Paul Receive Site) for the last 15 minutes. You do not need a spotter ID to participate in the practice net, but it is highly encouraged. Go to metroskywarn.org to sign for a spotter class this year. This is a practice net to make, a practice weather report if you would like, or check in to make sure you have your radio programmed correctly, and to see if you can make the repeater in blue sky conditions. I have added a link to a reporting script for you new spotters and for you veterans as a refresher if you need it, along with a link to our repeaters and backup repeaters. Rain activity

There are no warnings issued at this time for the Metro Skywarn area. Most storms are periodic downpours and very dark skies, but no reports yet. Monitoring the tracking shows most are going east to Southeast paths South of Lakeville. Unless mother nature changes we will monitor, but no need to go to alert status.
